Next on the to-do list...

...is to update here like I said I was going to!

Ya know, I just thought about the date today when one of my students emailed me, and I only have like one more FULL week in this quarter. After this week is over, there's one more week of class and finals week. What? That can't be right!

Who watched The Bachelor last night, and saw that SARAH from Tennessee got her man?! How cute are they together? That's so great that they get to go back home and still be a few minutes down the road. I do feel bad for Moana because I can understand being the 'odd one out' and all of her feelings, but honestly...if being vulnerable is her #1 fear in life then I think she needs to get out more. YEAH Sarah!

Okay, layouts! These are the two I mentioned using Holly's new kit that you HAVE to go add to your collection! The first layout was for TDC's Chick's Life challenge - this week's prompt was "Love is..." Dan and I took a few silly pictures for it, too! The second layout includes a picture from my baby book, awww! I figured out that I was at least three years old in this picture, maybe four. How adorable was I?

Journaling:
Love is definitely us, darling, and all the little things we do. There are so many things we do everyday to show our love, that these are just a few of the things we BOTH do to show we care! Sticking our TONGUES out at each other is something we've always done, no matter where we are. Signing "I love you" to each other with our HANDS is another thing we do, whether we're holding hands or signing in the air. We write surprise NOTES to each other and make "kissy" NOISES all the time, too. It may seem sickening to others around us, but it's all of these little things that really show how much we LOVE each other!

Journaling:
I'm in the process of going through old photos, and this is one of my favorites. I was at least three years old here, maybe four, because my ears were already pierced. I don't remember much about that time, but I do know I was loved and spoiled with toys galore, I was a total girly-girl, and that face just says happiness! (Journaled 2-28-06)

Thanks for peeking at my layouts, I'm off to tackle more of my to-do list...

Blah blah blah...

Wow, it's been a week since I've shared with my little blog here. Where did the week go? While we're at it, where has the month of February gone?

This past week is pretty much a blur, but I did get a layout done on Friday night for TDC's challenge and I started another layout on Saturday that I really like. Both of them used Holly's new Spring is Coming kit, which is fabulously fun! My second LO actually isn't done yet, it still needs journaling, but it should be done tomorrow.

Let me just tell you how mad I was with my Photoshop the other night. I had worked on my first LO for about 2 or 3 hours when PS just decided it was going to shut down on me...POOF! Of course...and I know, I don't need to hear it...I hadn't saved my LO yet. I had to do the entire layout over! So a couple hours later I had the layout almost done in between PS shutting down a few more times. I figured out that it was shutting down every time I tried to work on my journaling, so something was going on with the text layers that the program didn't like. Saturday morning, then, I tried to open up my layout in Illustrator and finish the journaling there. Somehow it got done! From now on I'll have to be a file-saving fool! I haven't done the journaling on my second layout yet, so I'm a little afraid...we'll see what happens.

Sunday, Dan and I went out to his parents' house and I worked on my literature review almost the entire time we were there. By the end of the night I needed to get away from that paper, so I caught up on some blogs and worked more on it today. It's also not done yet, but my advisor will need to read it by the end of the week.

Also today, Dan and I celebrated 9 months together. We had a couple errands to run tonight, did a little shopping at the mall to find some cute shirts for me, and we had dinner afterwards. Now I guess I'm taking a break from my paper that I shouldn't be, hehe, and watching The Apprentice, and I'm about to head to bed and watch The Bachelor! I can't wait to see who he picks!

So I'm off, but tomorrow I'll post my two layouts!
Goodnight! :)

A little bedtime snack!

Before I head off to bed, I thought I'd give you a little update and some eye candy! Actually, not much has been going on around here. Friday night Dan's family came to visit us and we ordered in pizza while watching a movie. Dan and his little brothers also played some video games, of course :). This weekend was pretty lazy and full of scrapping, though we did go to see my brother in his high school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. I tried to take as many pictures as possible since it was in a dark setting where I couldn't use a flash, and I had to zoom while the characters were constantly moving. I did get some good ones out of the bunch though, some that weren't very blurry. I'm sure you'll see a layout with them soon enough...or maybe posted on my blog/photosite this week once I sort through them and get the pictures that Dan took and sort through those too.

In other news, I did get one class of exams graded tonight while Dan and I watched some TV, but there are still two more classes to go. Grading 60 exams is a task I tell you, especially those darn essays! Also today, because I must be the good little Fairy Chick that I am... Holly put up the most darling 'dream' words in her shoppe today and she plans on making more! They're only $1.50 and they come with shadows and without. They almost remind me of those little magnet words, but they're paper! They're too cute!

Finally...some eye candy for you all to check out. Like I said, this weekend consisted of a bunch of scrapping. I was able to do THREE layouts in one weekend, that's like a world record for me! So without further interruption... *ahem* ...I give you the layout that I did for TDC's challenge last week - challenge prompt was about weddings, as well as a layout about Thanksgiving this past year, and a layout about my friend Sheri's recent birthday party.

I think that's it for tonight. Tomorrow's day off #1 of this week, so I get to sleep in, relax, and try to work on my paper! Goodnight!

AND...I can breathe!

Haaaaaaallelujah! My comp exams are over! I had one Tuesday and one today...Interpersonal and research methods. I'm so glad they're over now, a HUGE weight lifted off of my shoulders. I couldn't even tell you what I wrote for those essays, they were crazy, but today's was a lot better than Tuesday's. I had an idea of what the question would be today, and I knew a majority of the answer. The rest...was BS, lol. Now I can get back to my Sunday scrapping days and have some more time. Next thing due is the literature review for my paper, but I don't feel much stress about that.

Now my to-do list is quite short...
  • Dan's parents coming to visit tomorrow
  • Finish Michelle's challenge for TDC by Saturday
  • Go to Rob's play Saturday night
  • Lit review due next week
What else...Valentine's Day! I almost forgot, lol. I told Dan not to buy me anything since I really don't have any money and he's trying to save, but leave it to him to buy something and have an idea ahead of time! What a sweetie, Tuesday morning he made plans to go into work late and make me breakfast. Not only did I get to sleep in with him for a little bit, I got pancakes, biscuits, and cappuccino while I was doing some final studying. Later when I got home from my exam and he got home from work, he gave me a package that he ordered with the cutest purple and teal pajamas from Pajama Gram! I really want to take a picture of them, and I know a kit of Holly's that would match perfectly for a layout! I'm such a nerd...but that man sure knows me and my love for purple, comfy pajamas, and a layout opportunity, hehe. He's amazing!

Wednesday, I really wanted to do something for him since he was so great on Tuesday dealing with my stress. So...I went to the store after class and got some stuff to throw together for dinner, and I picked up a dessert to bake too. I'm sure this doesn't sound like anything spectacular, but Dan's the cook of the house and fixes every dinner! I'd have to say that my dinner and dessert were pretty darn good, though. I made some pork chops with au gratin potatoes and peas, and a warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. MMMmmmm!

Other than that, all I've been doing is studying lately. Dan and I are catching up on some shows tonight...Idol, Lost, Survivor, and a few others. Bachelor the other night was good too, I think Travis made the right choice in booting who he did! She was way fake this far into the show. I really liked her in the beginning, but on their getaway date she was still *trying* too hard to be nice and pretty, never herself. I like the two remaining girls, but I do have a favorite ;).

Before I go, you should check out the latest ATC card swap that Holly had. I completed one for it, and I'm really impressed by all the creative entries! Here's mine...

Our next exhibit...

Here's a little something for your viewing pleasure. It took up way more of my time than I wanted it to...what layout of mine doesn't, lol...but I think I'm happy with the result.

[JUST BEING ROB]

Credits: Kit is Holly McCaig's "For The Boys," her exclusive kit for the Shabby Shoppe coming this week! I LOVED working with this kit! Inking action by Atomic Cupcake. Fonts are Astonished (on Holly's blocks) and Fontastic.
Journaling: Robby, you sure are a character! It's been such an adventure watching you grow up, from the baby brother I used to hold and kiss, into your own person. It has been hard to see you down-hearted or in tough situations that I couldn't help you with, but you always seemed to pull yourself through better than before. I guess that's what life is all about, right? You have such a personality that shows through your musical and acting talents, your style, and your jokes! I couldn't have asked for a "little brother" as laid back, true to himself, level-headed (most of the time), and as fun as you! You are one-of-a-kind, and I hope it takes you where you want to go!

I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already! EEeek! Goodnight!

Alright, so my to-do list from this week and next is getting shorter! ...or not, since I'm adding more stuff to it for next week, hehe.

  • Finish ATCard by Wednesday (eh, somewhat done...)
  • Finish challenge layout "Sweet on..."
  • Do Holly's Muse challenge?
  • Make revisions to the outline for my paper

  • Grade my students' journals (60 of them!) by Monday

  • Do Michelle's challenge for week of 2/12 (added)
  • Have dinner with brother tomorrow (added)

  • Start working on literature review (added)
I also did my budget the other night to figure out my expenses, and applied for June graduation tonight, so there are two big things done!
*Sigh*

Where's my mojo?

Warning: this post may exhaust you as much as it does for me to think about it, lol.

Okay, so you may have seen a post from me last Friday or Saturday and now it's gone, right? Yeah, crazy blogger decided that it wanted to boycott my post! I gave a quick update on Friday night about moving Saturday and scrapping Sunday...it showed up fine when I published everything, but I looked on Saturday and it wasn't in my list of posts. Odd, indeed. So I copied and pasted and did it again, thinking that the second time would stick and bump out the first one. Well, I was right...(sensing a but here)...BUT that post didn't stick into my log of posts either! When I updated some links in my sidebar, POOF! went the post. Hmmm...good thing it really wasn't anything *important*, as if these ramblings are, lol! Now I wonder if this post will stick or not.

A little recap of the weekend, shall we? Saturday I went to my parents' house with Dan and packed up most of my stuff for the big MOVE! On the way there, Dan reached over and put his hand on my forehead. Confused, I asked him what he was doing. He said something like, "You didn't bring your laptop, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." LOL...I didn't have anything packed originally, but with dinner and packing we were only there for about five hours. Mom made a delicious dinner, too!

Sunday we went to church and saw the most hilarious service I've ever seen in my life! We weren't even 10 minutes into it and I was laughing so hard I was crying! Every year this church has a HUGE Superbowl thing and this is the first year I've been there...anchors commentating the show, a *game* between the two main pastors, funny commercials saying "We solute you, Mr. ...." just like the commercials on TV, oh my it was too good! In the videos of the *players*, the older pastor rolls up in some Escalade with a leopard fur coat on, gets out and he's only like five-feet-tall, LOL. We sat and ate our hot dogs, yes they had hot dogs and popcorn, and coffee of course, and laughed the entire time. The new pastor ended up winning the game by four points, but it was a good competition!

Later Sunday was the actual game, hehe, and Dan went to play poker and watch the game with the guys, while I stayed home, listened to my music and tried to scrap a few pages... unsuccessfully. I got started on my ATC (Artist's Trading Card) for Holly's swap, then went to work on a page using her Memory kit. Man, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with the layout! After that page was finally done, I started on another one for Michelle's challenge at the digichick, but still haven't finished it. *Sigh*...and I'm hoping that I can finish it today while I'm off, because I have TOO many other things to do this week. Anyway, here's the layout I did finish...

[WSU GRADUATION]

Credits: All here is from Holly McCaig's "Memory" kit available at www.hollymccaigdesigns.com, except straight stitching by Kathy Moore. Inking action and paper tear by Atomic Cupcake. Fonts are Susie's Hand and Fontastic.

Speaking of other things to do this week, I might be a little MIA! Here's the to-do list for this week AND next...and anything that I add to it as the week continues:
  • Do some grocery shopping for lunch foods
  • Finish ATCard
  • Finish challenge layout "Sweet on..."
  • Do Holly's Muse challenge?
  • Make revisions to the outline for my paper
  • Grade Teresa's exams for her class by this Friday?
  • Grade my students' journals (60 of them!) by Monday
  • STUDY, STUDY, and STUDY for comps next week *fearing for my life*
I'd also just like to vent for the record that I'm not too happy about this whole comps situation. Maybe I should've been more aggressive in getting answers and information, I don't know. I didn't get one email confirming anything about these exams, and I need them to graduate?! Hello! Are we expecting Vicki to fail, so let's not give her any information...or did we just forget about her? Bah!

Alright, enough complaining, I'm off to do something productive!
Think of me, pray for me, whatever you like to do...and have a GREAT week!

EDIT: Here's the finished layout for the Chick's Life challenge...finally. Isn't Dan the cutest, especially since he let me take random photos of him?! :)

[SWEET ON YOU]

Journaling:
Cutie, I can't believe that we've only been together for a little over eight months now. It feels like we've celebrated years! I'm so in love with you and everything you do... I love when you look into my eyes, hold my hand, cover me up when I'm cold, and take care of me. I love that we have our special things like sticking our tongues out at each other and signing "I love you", whether across the room or sitting close together. I love that you're so supportive of everything I do, and always pushing me to reach my goals. Sometimes I just sit and stare at you because I can't believe that you're mine... well, also because I think that you're darn handsome! You are my best friend and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us! I'm so sweet on you!

Thanks for looking! Goodnight!
