Just enjoying the view...

This is the view from my classroom window this semester. The tree and lights are new additions since last Tuesday. Every week I get to look out at the Ohio River, and every so often I'll catch a glimpse of it from other windows in the building. It's like I forget that the river is there, and then I get little bursts of beauty out of nowhere. I know the Ohio River isn't that great of a sight with its muddy brown water, but it makes me really love this campus.

The sock party verdict: I got a decent pair of socks. I started out with a really cute pair—brown ones with puffy reindeer on them, but someone took them from me and I was stuck with their black toe socks with a Christmas scene on them. I like toe socks so I'll live, but I really liked the reindeer socks. I tried to pull the but-I-came-in-on-my-day-off-and-this-is-what-I-get card, but she wasn't falling for it.

Once I got home, I decided to pull out our candle lights for the windows. If I could keep them out all year long I totally would. I love them that much. So far only the front lights are plugged in because we need to gather extension cords for some of the back windows. Note to husband: I would like an outlet put in under every window that doesn't already have one, pretty please. What I love most—or maybe second most—about our candle lights is that they each have a built-it timer. Once you plug them in the first time, they will come on at that time every day and turn off after eight hours. I don't have to worry about plugging in and unplugging 16 different lights all around the house. And it's a lovely glow from the bedroom windows while I fall asleep. Thus ends my Public Service Announcement on candle lights with built-in timers.

Until next time... I get to work from home the rest of the week. Maybe time will slow down a bit.
